WIR is innovating – we realized that too much development focus is new investment, rather than ongoing maintenance and reliability of existing investments. In order to further develop WIRs capacity to develop “Culture of Maintenance” programs, our Program Manager Nancy Sikukuu travelled to Lagos Nigeria to take part in the 6thAfrican Maintenance Conference. There she took part in a leadership training to learn the key concepts, approaches and lessons learned about creating effective maintenance culture. We anticipate enhancing “cultures of maintenance” will be of benefit to many millions of people in the years to come.
